Kyle Field Overview.Named for Edwin Jackson Kyle, Texas A&M University’s Dean of Agriculture as well as Athletic Council President, Kyle Field was constructed in 1929. Almost 40 years later, two decks of grandstands were added. In 1980, the third decks were added to the east and west sides of the stadium. During the 1970s, many college football stadiums switched from grass to artificial turf and Texas A&M was one of them. Natural grass made a comeback to Kyle Field in 1996 and it’s been that way ever since. The Bernard C. Richardson Zone, which was an add-on in 1999, increased Kyle Field’s seating capacity to 82,600, making it Texas’ largest football stadium.
Kyle Field Advantage.Known as a tough place to play for visiting teams, Kyle Field has been very kind to the Aggies over the years. They possess an unbelievable record of 251-122 at home. In the 90s, Texas A&M rode roughshod over the competition at Kyle Field, posting a 55-4 record. Not surprisingly, winning streaks were very prominent back then. As a matter of fact, the Aggies compiled two of the longest home winning streaks in the history of the school. During the first five years of the decade, they won 31 straight games at Kyle Field. That was followed by 22 straight over the next five years.
Kyle Field Improvements.Kyle Field expanded in 2003 with the addition of the Bright Football Complex, which is located on the south end of the stadium. It features a players' lounge, dressing rooms, one of the country’s largest training and rehabilitation facilities, and a state-of-the-art academic center. Three years later in 2006, the 12th Man TV made its debut. The massive structure, which resides at the stadium’s south end, is 110-feet high and is comprised of almost 4,000 square feet of video board. Without question, it offers the ultimate in college football in-stadium video entertainment.

Reed Arena Overview.Built in 1998, Reed Arena is a top-tier facility on the west side of the Texas A&M University campus. Featuring nearly 13,000 seats, Reed Arena is home court for both the men's and women's basketball teams. Considered one of the finest basketball arenas in the southwest, Reed Arena combines the amenities of an NBA arena with the atmosphere of a college setting. The arena is named for Houston veterinarian and Texas A&M graduate Dr. Chester J. Reed and his wife Billie Jean who contributed 265 acres of undeveloped land west of Houston to the university. This formed the nucleus of assets needed to fund the arena.
Reed Arena Amenities.A full-size practice gym resides on the bottom floor of Reed Arena right next to the Aggies' locker room. The gym is quite spacious and can hold six portable baskets, which allows practices to flow smoothly. In addition, there’s a separate players lounge that features a stereo and big-screen television. Adjacent to the dressing room is a large training room that provides two whirlpools, three treatment stations, and two taping areas. A clever design allows men's and women's team members to use the area concurrently.
Reed Arena Versatility. In addition to Texas A&M University basketball games, Reed Arena plays host to a variety of entertainment, education, and business events. These include concerts, family entertainment, trade shows, student programs, and commencement ceremonies. Reed Arena also provides an ideal location for a luncheon for up to 50 guests, a large room for a festive wedding reception, and a smaller room for a meeting, training program or other gathering. There are 10 meeting rooms in all in this very versatile venue.
